Elizabeth Kostova Launch party in asheville, nC

Hey, y’all,

One of the best parts of this author life is celebrating the new books of writers you love and admire. Elizabeth Kostova is one of those writers. I was so happy to make my first post-surgery outing to the launch party for her new historical novel, Mystery Play!

The launch party was hosted in conjunction with Asheville, NC bookstore Malaprops at the Ferguson Auditorium at A-B Technical College. Elizabeth was in conversation with Terry Roberts (author of The Sky Club), the room was filled with her family and friends (and fans), and it was simply a beautiful night. My dear friend Charisma went as my date and chauffeur, and we had a ball. I just wanted to share.

If you keep up with me, you know that I met Elizabeth back in 2013, when my first novel and I were part of a book festival where she was the Keynote. I’ve never forgotten her sincere welcome of me to that world. I’m chomping at the bit to read Mystery Play, which features a family member from her New York Times bestselling debut, The Historian. Add it to your own reading lists for Fall!
