Book tour begins: w/ joy callaway at south main book company

My book tour for The Miniaturist’s Assistant has begun! The first stop: Salisbury, NC, and South Main Book Company with Joy Callaway, author of The Star of Camp Greene. We had such a ball with a sweet group of readers at this jewel of a bookstore.

And what an awesome town; if you’ve not been to Salisbury, you must put South Main Book Company on your bookish roadtrip list! The store is full of gorgeous hardwood floors, beautiful murals, a full downstairs for events, and any book you can imagine.

Joy was such a fun to be “in conversation” with—it was like talking writing with a long-time friend. And I also got to meet Kristy Woodson Harvey, who had stopped by the store to sign books with her mom. I can officially report all of these lovely ladies are as kind and generous in real life as they seem.

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off book tour!

Next stop: City Lights Bookstore in Sylva, N.C. with memoirist and essayist Jennifer McGaha, author of The Joy Document.
