It’s storytime! The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by washington irving

Hey, y’all.

We all know the story of ‘The Legend of Sleep Hollow,” but have you read the 1820 short story by Washington Irving? It is SO good: atmospheric, spooky, and fun.

At my house, we’ve decided (okay, I’ve decided) to read a few pages of the story to our 16 and 12 year-old daughters each evening after supper, leading up to Halloween. They didn’t hate it! (Although my 16 year-old did say, “Mom, your college professor self is coming out” when I gushed over the language last night.

To hear me read a few pages, go to my Instagram account. Hope it wets your spooky season whistle!
