Peek into the world of the miniaturist’s assistant

Hey, y’all.

I’m packing right now for an event in Charleston, South Carolina: This week, at The Gibbes Museum of Art, I’ll be in conversation with Director Becca Hiester about their incredible miniature portraits exhibit, and how it inspired The Miniaturist’s Assistant, and so much more. (Click here for more info, and to get your tickets.)

Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the world. It’s my favorite place to time travel. I truly mean it with every fiber of my history-lover’s being when I say I can’t wait to be back.

In lieu of this special event, I’m doing something fun: I’ve opened my formerly secret Pinterest page—the place I kept inspirations for The Miniaturist’s Assistant. It’s basically like a scrapbook, or photo album, of the novel.

If you want to see what I collected, and peek into Gamble’s world, and into 2004 and 1804 Charleston, the Regency/Post-Revolutionary Era in South Carolina, and so much more, explore here.
